I dearly love the old Tom Corbett radio and TV series. So, here is my updated look at it. A great trio of characters, Tom Corbett (pilot), Roger Manning (astrogator) and the Venusian Astro (engineer). Hope you like it!

Well, when a kid, I had a 8" 78rp record of Tom Corbett. An origin story. He's at the space academy and meets Manning (a gruff malcontent) and Astro (a Venusian hillbilly, as Manning calls him). They take their maiden flight and Manning saves their lives at risk of his own. Congradulated, they sing the Space Academy song as the record ends.
Just minutes ago, I found the correct lyrics to that song, which I always misheard. It's NOT "Like a cosmic ray that took our pipe away", but "Like a cosmic ray, we light the way". Blame my already bad hearing.
